Services for Jack William Walker, 84, Tonganoxie, were Tuesday, Dec. 30 at Maple Hill Funeral Home, Kansas City, Kan.
Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Walker died Dec. 24, 2008, at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 8, 1924, in Oak Hill to Leonard and Hildred America Walker and had lived in the Kansas City area for most of his life. He was a traffic controller for the Santa Fe Railroad for 47 years, retiring in 1988. Jack also owned and operated Old Heritage Decorators for 30 years. He was a Navy World War II Veteran. Jack was a member of Wyandotte No. 3 Masonic Lodge, the American Legion post No. 58, the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry of Northeast Kansas and was a life member of VFW post No. 14000.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Walker, of the home; daughters, Susan Rouse, Leawood, and Jennie Adrian, Madison, Wis.; sons, David Burkin, Kansas City, Kan., Stanley Burkin, Olathe, and Bobby Burkin, Las Vegas; brothers, Quinton Walker, Shawnee, and Leonard Walker, Jr., Camby, Ore.; sisters, Frida Birchmeier, Americus, and Judy Duffy, Fort Scott; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
