Services for Robert “Bob” E. Oelschlaeger, 81, Lopeno, Texas, formerly of Linwood, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs. Burial will be in Bonner Springs Cemetery. Visitation will precede the funeral, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Oelschlaeger died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at his home.
He was born Oct. 28, 1927, in Tonganoxie.
Mr. Oelschlaeger was a military police officer in the U.S. Army and was a World War II veteran. He was self-employed, performing various excavation work.
His first wife, Evelyn (Cote) Oelschlaeger, died in 1968, and his second wife, Ethelmae (Nunn) Oelschlaeger, died in 1996. He also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Joyce Ann Oelschlaeger, and a granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife, Josie (Gomes) Oelschlaeger, of the home; a son, Robert T. Oelschlaeger, Linwood; two stepsons, Virgil Wright, Winchester, and Russell “Rusty” Nunn and wife, Nancy, Bonner Springs; a sister, Annette Parsons, four brothers, Richard, Orville, Everett and Bernard; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice, sent in care of the funeral home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs 66012.
