Lafe Lewis Schwab 1932 - 2009 Morganville

Services for Lafe Lewis Schwab, 76, Morganville, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 18, in the United Methodist Church in Clay Center.
Burial will be in Sherman Cemetery in Clay County. Rev. Gale Lund will officiate the service. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today, Wednesday, June 17, at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center.
Mr. Schwab died Monday, June 15, 2009, in the Clay Center Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 14, 1932, in Morganville, the son of William and Helen (Reed) Schwab.
Mr. Schwab was raised in Morganville and attended Sherman and Morganville schools. He married Vivian Sallman on March 15, 1952. Mr. Schwab served in the National Guard for nine years. He farmed in the Morganville area until his retirement in 1995. Mr. Schwab was director of the Morganville Co-op Board for 18 years, Sherman Cemetery Board and Sherman Rural Fire Department Board. He is preceded by two sisters.
Survivors include: his wife, Vivivan Schwab, Morganville; his mother, Helen Schwab, Clyde; sons David Schwab and wife, Janet, Clay Center, Doug Schwab and wife, Lisa, Clifton, and son Dwaine Schwab and wife, Leah, Clifton; a daughter, Dianne Gonser and husband, Kelly, Leavenworth; a brother, William Schwab and wife, Eva, Clifton; a sister, Muriel Jacobsen, Clifton; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
