Jack Glidewell

Services for Jack Bernard Glidewell, 86, Yates Center, formerly of Leavenworth and Jefferson County, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 30 at the Quisenberry Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, Kan.
Mr. Glidewell died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. Glidewell was born April 3, 1923, in Galt, Mo., the son of Clyde and Dora (Jobe) Glidewell. He spent 44 years in Local Laborers Union No. 1290 working for W.W. Bennett Construction Company, Maxwell Bridge Company, Tri-City Construction Company and Barcus Construction Company, where he retired from in 1985. He served the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a Free Mason for nearly 60 years. His wife, Ruth Louise Glidewell, preceded Jack in death in 2003.
Survivors include, two sons, Robert Glidewell, and his wife Jeanne, Bonner Springs, Bernie Glidewell, and his wife, Janet, Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Shirley Lust, and her husband, Frank, Kansas City, Kan., and Joyce Saragusa and husband, Ronald, Basehor; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
