Elva Oaks

Services for Elva Mae Oaks, 83, Everest, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 11 at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton.
The family will greet friends from 7-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Oaks died May 7, 2010, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
She was born Feb. 24, 1927 in Hemple, Mo., the daughter of Waller and Nellie Quinn Grimes. On Feb. 14, 1948, she married Moulder Oaks in St. Joseph, Mo. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Padilla, Newton, Iowa, and Jane Parsons and husband, Byron Parsons, Leavenworth; sister Mary Ann Moore, Atchison; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
