LJ Chrisman 1929 - 2011

LJ Chrisman, 81, Easton, previously of Shawnee, died July 20, 2011.
Services were July 26 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with burial following at Monticello Union Cemetery in Shawnee.
He was born Dec. 20, 1929, at his family’s home in Bonner Springs. He was the second of two boys to Peg and Ellen Tinberg Chrisman.
Mr. Chrisman graduated from Bonner Springs High School and while working at the Union Pacific Railroad he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War as a medic.
He married Gertrude Bender on Nov. 25, 1953. She survives, of the home.
He worked at Perk Dog Food in Kansas City, then at Sears and Roebuck as a salesman and later a manager before retiring in 1984.
Other survivors include three children, Steve Chrisman, Easton, Joyce Webb, Shawnee, and Valerie Lafferty, Lenexa; a brother, Walter Chrisman, Parkville, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
