Mary Frances Krull 1920 - 2011 Tonganoxie

Private inurnment for Mary Frances Krull, 91, Tonganoxie, took place at Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie.
Mrs. Krull died Aug. 9, 2011, in Tonganoxie. She was born Feb. 12, 1920.
Mrs. Krull was a lifelong resident of the Lawrence and Tonganoxie area. She graduated from Tonganoxie High School with honors in 1938 and later attended Lawrence Business School.
She married Harold E. Krull on May 24, 1941. He preceded her in death in 2005. From their marriage, two sons survive: Chad Krull of Tonganoxie and Mark Krull of Lenexa. Other survivors include two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Krull worked in several vocations to help support the family and also used the extra income to make sure that both of her sons completed college educations. Besides being a homemaker, Mrs. Krull also found time to be active in the community.
She never hesitated to become involved in important issues involving the Lawrence School Board, the PTA and the Lawrence City Commission Community Relations Steering Committee. During her life, she worked at precinct polling places and was named a delegate from the State of Kansas to the 1980 Republican National Convention. She also served as the chairperson for the Douglas County Republican Women.
In her spare time, Mrs. Krull volunteered time in support of civic and veterans organizations. She served in leadership roles for Eagles Post 309 and the Lawrence VFW Auxiliary and supported many worthwhile activities sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary. She also donated hundreds of hours of her spare time volunteering at the VA Center in Leavenworth.
