Alan Ray Eccles 1952 - 2010 Gridley

Services for Alan Ray Eccles, 58, Gridley, were Dec. 27 at the Southern Coffey County Middle School Gymnasium in Gridley.
Mr. Eccles and his son-in-law, Terry Lee “TJ” Emmons, Jr., 35, Gridley, died, Dec. 21, 2010, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Kansas Highway 58 at the Coffey County-Greenwood County Line.
Mr. Eccles was born Nov. 5, 1952, the son of Leo Dale and Freda Mae (Shaffer) Eccles in Burlington. He graduated from Gridley High School in 1970.
On Nov. 6, 1970, he and Nancy Kay Johnson were married in Gridley.
Alan had worked for J&W Welding, Kraft Oil for 17 years, and then became a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the Gridley Christian Church.
His life centered around his family and he especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren and attending their activities and sporting events.
Survivors are his wife, Nancy, of the home; two daughters, Amanda Rae “Mandy” Emmons, Gridley, and Marcie Ann (Jason) Harrison, Madison; a son, Brad Alan (Lindsay) Eccles, Tonganoxie; four brothers, Bill (Patty) Eccles, McPherson, Arthur (Denise) Eccles, Gridley, Dale Eccles, Gridley, and David (Vonda) Eccles, Chanute; a sister, Beverly (Jay) Morris, Andover; a stepsister, Judy (Daryl) Westerman, Piqua; a step-brother, Jeff (Billie) Paskin, Powderly, Texas; and six grandchildren.
