James Englert

Funeral Mass for James M. Englert, 84, Independence, Mo., will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. Englert died Sunday, July 3, 2011.
He was born July 19, 1926, in Chillicothe, Mo., the son of George and Rose (Buckley) Englert. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and worked as a candy salesman for Planters Peanut Co. and Nabisco in Kansas City, Mo. He was formerly of Concordia, Mo.
His wife, Lillian Wiederholt, died in 1981. He married Ruth Flandermeyer in 1991, and she survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Ron, Nixa, Mo., and Tom (Marcia), Wichita; a daughter, Margie (Andy) Gilner, Tonganoxie; a sister, Helen (Dick) Graham, Chillicothe, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends an hour before services at the church.
Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, is in charge of arrangements.
