Zenith Edward Blakey 1922 - 2011 McLouth
Funeral Mass for Zenith Edward Blakey, 88, McLouth, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa.
Mr. Blakey died Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at his home.
He was born Oct. 11, 1922, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Zenith E. and Mary (Sapp) Blakey.
Mr. Blakey was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He worked for the Sante Fe Railway in Kansas City, Kan. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie.
On Oct. 10, 1942, he married Anna Marie DeCaney. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, John Blakey, McLouth; two daughters, Shirley House, Olathe, and Janet Butler, Kansas City, Kan.; ten grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund, sent in care of Quisenberry Funeral Home, 604 E. Fourth St., Tonganoxie, KS 66086.
