Christina Lynn Nuzik
On May 15, 2016, my beautiful wife of 40 years and closest confidante went to be with the Lord. This wonderful woman was born on February 25, 1949 near Newton, IL. Her last breath was taken at the Lund Home, Hospice of the Valley in Gilbert, AZ. She was preceded in death by her mother Helen Wilson and our only child Mathew, who was killed in a 2010 automobile accident. We met in Tucson in 1975 and tied the knot April 23, 1976. We soon left for California and that is where we were blessed with a beautiful baby boy. After a short stay in Montana, we lived in the Portland area and eventually ended up in the Kansas City area. It was during our stay in the KC area that Chris developed a very rare cancer, Psuedomyxoma Peritoneii (PMP). Chris was a brave cancer warrior and after 6 surgeries no more could be done. I did my best as a caregiver, the surgical oncologists did all they could but the cancer won out. To a fault I never heard a bad word spoken of another human being by Chris. She was always concerned about her family and friends who were devoted to this Godly woman. The pain and suffering we shared brought us closer together. She loved her new¬-found career in Cosmetology. (Free haircuts!) Loved plants- everything about them. She loved to decorate the house and had a flair for bringing out a lot of charm and style for little money. Chris is survived by her husband (me, Al Nuzik), her father Lloyd Wilson and her brother Randy/Lynn Wilson. Her sister-in-law Debby Bambauer will miss her greatly as they were the best of buds. A celebration of her life will be held at Bueler Mortuary Chapel – 14 W. Hulet Dr., Chandler, AZ on Wednesday June 15th at 10:00. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the ACPMP Research Foundation (acpmp.org) would be greatly appreciated.
