Gail Watson Gray 1921 - 2017 Tonganoxie, KS

Gail Watson Gray, 95, of Tonganoxie, formerly of Oskaloosa and McLouth, died Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at his home in Tonganoxie. He was born December 14, 1921 in rural Bonner Springs in Leavenworth County, the son of Guy Spencer and Anna Watson Gray. He was a 1939 graduate of Tonganoxie High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, serving in the 97th Infantry Division in the European Theater . He was a member of the Carol Baptist Church in Atchison. Gail had lived and farmed in the Glenwood area of Leavenworth County for 50 years and had served as a Supervisor for the Noxious Weed Dept. of Leavenworth County before he retired. He was married to Erma Clouse in Kansas City, KS, she preceded him in death on December 9, 1990. He was married Dorothy Virginia Steinmetz Rumbaugh on October 26, 2007, she preceded him in death on March 6, 2015. He is survived by one brother, Tom (Clara) Gray, Bonner Springs, nieces and nephews, Bob and Bonnie Roller, Donald and Jan Roller, Nancy and Domer Gallentine and Linda and Leon Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Tressa Roller and two brothers, Andrew Gray and Wesley Gray.
Service at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 27, at Barnett Family Funeral Home, Oskaloosa. Visitation 1:00 to 2:00 PM, Monday before service at the Funeral Home. Burial at Buster Cemetery, rural Perry, KS.
