“I think it’s going to allow Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi to impose a ‘peace tax.’”

“I voted for the man, don’t misunderstand me, but I don’t understand what he’s done that warrants a Nobel Peace Prize. It’s my sincere hope he earns it but at this present time, I don’t understand it. He has hopes and he has dreams, but he hasn’t done anything yet.”

Brady Field ( in Tonganoxie) says...

“He’s the first African-American to become president of the United States. Other than that, he hasn't really done anything. Many of his promises are either stalled for the moment, or put off, such as his promise to close Guantanamo Bay. Maybe the Nobel Peace Prize committee should have waited longer, so as to give a legitimate reason to give him the prize. Instead they award him the prize for ‘his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.’ Sure, his speeches were good, but as they say ‘actions speak louder than words.’”

There's a general misconception that the Nobel committee awards the prizes based on accomplishment. In order to understand the basis for awarding, you have to understand how the committee is formed and by whom.

The Nobel Committee is elected/appointed by the Norwegian Parliament. The Norwegian govt is about as socialist as they come in Europe. They, therefore, elect committee members who share their ideology.

The Nobel Peace Prize to Obama has no basis in results but rather is a socialist government telling Obama, "We trust what you ran on, remember what you said you would do on the campaign trail, we're watching you." It's a badge of approval of his basic philosophy of government which is more control over people, more centralized power in government, and less freedom of people through new laws and regulations. That is the Norwegian model and it is also Obama's model for how government should work.

This is nothing more than two birds of a feather scratching each others back.

I agree with Barrack Hussein Obama about the whole matter. Something is "stupidly" "fishy?" Of course, he'll be getting an award from PFLAG soon too, for installing Kevin Jennings as safe school CZAR. I mean, we can't deny, children should be taught Jennings safety courses, especially when it comes to 12 year olds learning how to fist homosexuals. SEE Mass Resistance "The Fistgate tapes."

@BillBixby: You do understand how partisan you appear when you throw in sensationalism.

I'm as conservative as the come but when people throw out disgusting references and attribute them to Obama, as if he's sitting in the White House with Rahm Emmanuel saying, "Rahm, I'd like 12-y/os to learn how to fist homosexuals. Let's get someone in line to help us with that."

Give me a break. Your statement is about as bad as the left-loonies saying that Bush plotted to bring down the 2-towers in New York. Youth read these forums...keep it above board.
