Do you think the economy is showing signs of making a recovery?

“I see signs of slow recovery nationally. The local economic situation can be derived from sales at fireworks stands this year compared to prior years. In 2010, how willing were we to watch our money go up in a flash and bang?”

“I don't see a big sign of recovery yet. House values are still dropping and people are still losing jobs. I know several people who have been out of work for six months to over a year. I'm afraid the economy hasn't bottomed out yet.”

straightup 10 years ago on Do you think the economy is showing signs of making a recovery?

If it is I can't see it were I stand. I've taken a pay cut 20% to keep some of my employee's working. My employee's had to take an 10% pay so we could try to keep everyone working. Thank God I've only had to lay 2 people off. Which I hated to have to do. I've had to push 25% of the cost of Health care off on my employee's, I used to pay for all of the Health care benefits. I haven't been able to give them a pay raise is two years. But they are all good troopers and they understand. I've had too start biding jobs out of state and send some of my family men to do the work. Taken them away from their families. I had 14 employees before I laid 2 off and they lost their homes. Plus 2 of my employees have lost their homes. I feel so bad for them but its not my fault it is the ECONOMY. So no I don't see it recovering! Plus the cost of living is going up and up. People are hurting out here.
