What do you think about Shawnee being home to a hookah bar?
April 11, 2012
Michael Sanders ( in Shawnee) says...
“A hookah bar comes with a lot of negatives — more negatives and little or no positives: not a good health benefit for Shawnee residents, not a good source of job creation, not a good image for the city of Shawnee.”
Angela Jeppesen ( in Shawnee) says...
“Many tobacco retailers sell hookah tobacco and host smoking lounges. As long as all laws are followed and they are good business neighbors, I don’t have a problem with it.”
Norge Jerome ( in Shawnee) says...
“I was delighted to see my Cairo, Egypt, observations during the 1980s being expressed in Shawnee. Another example of how we have embraced globalization but express it ‘our way.’”
Haley Majernik ( in Shawnee) says...
“I’m not in favor of it. With all of the dangers surrounding smoking and tobacco, it seems we should discourage the presence of such an establishment.”
Ray Erlichman ( in Shawnee) says...
“Is Shawnee home to bars? Yes. Are hookahs illegal? No! ‘Nuff said!”
