Alan Austin applies a patina to the bronze sculpture “Medic” last month in Lawrence. The sculpture, depicting a soldier flanked by a medic, is the most recent in a series of bronze sculptures by Lawrence artist Jim Brothers to be placed at the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Va.
