Anna Mary Landauer leans against the mail box at the Doege family farmstead. Her grandfather made the box in the days when mail was delivered by carriers in horse buggies. Stakes in the ground behind the 92-year-old Basehor woman foreshadow the widening of the road next year when the bridge of Stranger Creek will be replaced. The project will require the removal of the barn on the left and modification of the larger barn to the right.
