Rik and Leisa Perkins, owners of Elle's Diner, recently presented checks totaling $466 to United Way of Leavenworth County. Elle's participated in the United Way campaign’s Dining Out program, pledging 5 percent of sales on Thursday evenings during the campaign. Pictured, from left, are Leisa Perkins, Rik Perkins and Nancy Bauder, United Way executive director. Leisa Perkins said she was thankful for all the community support at the restaurant during the drive. Other businesses that participated in the drive were IHOP in Lansing, Kelley’s Grille and Bar in Basehor and TenPenny and June’s Cottage and Café in Leavenworth. Total donations for the other businesses are still being determined.
