Tonganoxie usd 464 Superintendent Randy Weseman tends to his iPhone, a device he’ll be using this school year to send out tweets to inform school district patrons of school news on Twitter. Tonganoxie High School has a Twitter account and the district also has plans for a Facebook account.

School districts vary on social media use
In less than three years, the Basehor-Linwood school district’s Facebook page has amassed more than 1,000 “likes,” one for every two students in its buildings. But a few miles away, in Bonner Springs, there is no district Facebook page to be found.

What’s the best way to spend a snow day?
Shovel your driveway and paths, check neighbors’ driveways and then grab all your closest little ones and find the biggest sledding hill. Snowmen also are a must. Snow days are a great time to catch up on missed shows and much-needed rest. I love snowdays, they haven’t changed one bit even as an adult, although I am sure not all working adults can say that, but I am happy I can. I was excited to see the snowmen and other snow sculptures throughout the Lawrence and Kansas City metro areas.
