Conference shifting continues for high school leagues

De Soto joining KVL schools in yet-to-be-named league

The league merry-go-round continues in this part of the state. The 2017-18 school year will be the final year of the Kaw Valley League, which dates back 30 years. Tonganoxie, Basehor-Linwood, Bishop Ward, Bonner Springs, Lansing, Piper and Turner will compete in the league for a final time together starting in August.

The postseason starts today for some Tonganoxie High teams. Tonganoxie golf opened its Class 4A regional at 8:30 a.m. in Atchison against Atchison, Baldwin, Basehor-Linwood, Bishop Miege, Bonner Springs, Jeff West, Ottawa, Piper and Spring Hill at Village Greens Golf Course in Ozawkie.

Masterful day for Tonganoxie High golf as Chieftains win 1st KVL title since 2012

Tonganoxie High has a league title in 2017. The THS golf team won Monday’s Kaw Valley League Tournament at Falcon Lakes in Basehor. The Chieftains won the event with a low score of 329, 34 strokes ahead of runner-up Basehor-Linwood (363).
