TMS cross country finishes on a high note

By Mirror Staff Reports - | Oct 12, 2009

The Tonganoxie Middle School cross country teams wrapped up their season in successful fashion on Thursday.

Despite battling rain, wind and cold temperatures, Warriors runners won two of the four races and the seventh- and eighth-grade girls won team titles.

Evan Stilgenbauer won the boys eighth-grade race and seventh-grader Sarah Ahart won her race.

Six other TMS runners finished in the top five: Emily Soetaert (second) and Hunter Cook (fourth), eighth-grade girls; Emily Williams (second) and Tressa Walker (fourth), seventh-grade girls; and Asher Huseman (third) and Brett Fisher (fourth), seventh-grade boys.

Tonganoxie’s seventh- and eighth-grade boys teams both finished second in team scoring at Eudora.

Coach John Tollefson said it was a great finish to another successful cross country season for the Warriors.
