McLouth USD 342 enrollment for the 2018-19 school year will be later this week. Enrollment is 1-8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m.-noon Friday at the McLouth School District Cafeteria.

McLouth’s Fourth of July Fireworks Display will begin at dusk (approximately 9:30 p.m.). The best viewing will be from the Stan Braksick Sports Complex, sitting in the bleachers, looking east toward Rose Park. No personal fireworks are allowed. Enjoy an evening of family fun. Sponsored by McLouth Recreation Commission, City of McLouth and McLouth Fire Department.

The McLouth Kiwanis Club is sponsoring this year’s McLouth Easter Egg Hunt, which will start at 10 a.m. March 31 at Stan Braksick Sports Complex. Other events coming up in McLouth are the Patriots Parade on April 21, McLouth BBQ Contest on June 2 and a fireworks display on July 4.

Enjoy the ride of your life on the Threshers Lair Haunted Hayride on Saturday at the McLouth Threshing Bee Grounds. The hayrides are 7:30-11 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $10 per person; $5 for children ages 6 and younger.

The 1967 Class of McLouth High School will meet for its Laughing Lunch at noon Oct. 19 at Rice House in Tonganoxie. The restaurant is just off East U.S. Highway 24-40 next to Gambino’s. All classmates are invited to attend the regular gathering.

Rosie Oelschlaeger had lunch with Gary and Linda Blanton on March 7 at Jerry’s Again in Atchison. Rosie Oelshlaeger and Marilyn Oxley visited Rosie’s brother, Eugene Sawyer and Terri Morris of Holton on March 8. Two of Tammy Mooberry’s friends took her with them to Mardi Gras earlier this month.

The upcoming pancake supper was discussed. It will be 5-7 p.m. March 18. It was decided to add fruit to the menu. Marilyn Oxley filled in for Rosie as program leader and Nila Denholm served as hostess and served ice cream sandwiches to members Elaine Gnasch, Marilyn Oxley, Faye Cleavinger, Frances Jeannin, Thamar Barnett and the Rev. Larry Grove. The next meeting will be March 17 and the group will set up tables and chairs for the supper.
