Rep. Kenny Wilk, R-Lansing, briefs Tonganoxie Middle School fifth-graders on legislative proceedings in a meeting Tuesday in the TMS library conference room. Six fifth-graders will testify before the House Agricultural and Natural Resources Committee at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in room 431-N of the Statehouse in Topeka on making the bluegill the state's official fish. The students were in Karen Stockman's third-grade class two years ago when students first made the push for the state legislation. To Wilk's left is TMS social studies instructor Kathy Harrell.
