THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WICHITA HAS EXPANDED THE
* FLOOD WATCH TO INCLUDE A PORTION OF CENTRAL KANSAS...INCLUDING
THE FOLLOWING AREAS...BARTON...CHASE...ELLSWORTH...LINCOLN...
MARION...MCPHERSON...RICE...RUSSELL AND SALINE
* UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING.
* SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS...SOME WITH HEAVY RAINFALL...ARE
OCCURRING THIS AFTERNOON AND WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THIS
EVENING. RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR ARE POSSIBLE
WITH THE STRONGER THUNDERSTORMS. SOILS REMAIN NEARLY SATURATED
ACROSS THE AREA...SO ANY ADDITIONAL RAINFALL MAY AGGRAVATE
ONGOING FLOODING OR RESULT IN ADDITIONAL FLOODING.
* FLOODING OF STREETS AND LOW LYING FLOOD PRONE AREAS ARE
POSSIBLE. ALSO LOW WATER CROSSINGS ON COUNTY ROADS MAY BECOME
IMPASSIBLE.
