* SEVERAL ROUNDS OF THUNDERSTORMS HAVE PREVIOUSLY BROUGHT BETWEEN ONE
AND LOCALLY THREE INCHES OF RAIN TO THE AREA SINCE TUESDAY MORNING.
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF ONE TO LOCALLY TWO INCHES ARE
POSSIBLE ACROSS ALL BUT FAR NORTHWEST MISSOURI THROUGH THE
REMAINDER OF THE MORNING HOURS.
* WITH SOILS NEARLY SATURATED ACROSS THE AREA...ADDITIONAL MODERATE
TO OCCASIONALLY HEAVY PRECIPITATION THIS MORNING WILL LEAD TO
EXCESSIVE RAINFALL THAT COULD PRODUCE FLASH FLOODING.
ADDITIONALLY...RUNOFF FROM THIS RAINFALL WILL ALSO LEAD TO RAPID
RISES ON AREA RIVERS...CREEKS AND STREAMS WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR
RIVER FLOODING AS WELL.
A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
