...BAND OF SNOWFALL TO AFFECT PORTIONS OF THE AREA TONIGHT...
...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST
WEDNESDAY...
* TIMING...RAIN WILL CONTINUE TO CHANGE OVER TO SNOW LATE THIS
EVENING ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTHWESTERN MISSOURI. THE SNOW MAY
BECOME MODERATE TO HEAVY AT TIMES. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL ONLY
LAST FOR ABOUT AN HOUR OR TWO OVER A GIVEN LOCATION.
HOWEVER...LIGHT SNOW WILL REMAIN POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT.
* MAIN IMPACT...WET AND SLUSHY ACCUMULATIONS FROM A HALF INCH TO
AROUND AN INCH ARE EXPECTED FROM THE FORT LEONARD WOOD AREA INTO
THE SPRINGFIELD AND CASSVILLE AREAS. UP TO TWO INCHES OF SNOW
COULD FALL IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN ACROSS THE AREA...INCLUDING
SOUTHEASTERN GREENE COUNTY. TEMPERATURES WILL LIKELY REMAIN IN
THE LOWER TO MIDDLE 30S WHICH WILL TEND TO LIMIT THE HIGHEST
ACCUMULATIONS TO ELEVATED SURFACES...GRASSY AREAS..AND LESS
TRAVELED RURAL ROADWAYS. HOWEVER... SLUSHY SPOTS CAN ALSO BE
EXPECTED ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS...INCLUDING INTERSTATE 44.
* OTHER IMPACTS...VISIBILITIES WILL BE REDUCED DUE TO GUSTY NORTH
WINDS AND HEAVY WET SNOWFALL. VISIBILITIES WILL LIKELY BE
REDUCED TO LESS THAN A HALF MILE AT TIMES.
