* LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL WITH THUNDERSTORMS IS EXPECTED THIS
MORNING. MOST LOCATIONS IN THE FLOOD WATCH HAVE ALREADY OBSERVED
3 TO 9 INCHES OF RAINFALL. AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN
IS EXPECTED THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON WITH STORM TOTAL RAINFALL
AMOUNTS OF 4 TO 10 INCHES LIKELY. LOCALLY HEAVIER AMOUNTS ARE
POSSIBLE ALONG A LINE FROM THE LAKE OF THE OZARKS IN MISSOURI TO
LITCHFIELD ILLINOIS. THIS INCLUDES THE ST. LOUIS METROPOLITAN
AREA.
* THIS HEAVY RAINFALL WILL LIKELY RESULT IN LIFE-THREATENING
FLASH FLOODING OF LOW LYING OR POOR DRAINAGE AREAS...AND
SMALLER CREEKS AND STREAMS. FLOODING OF ALL RIVERS IS
EXPECTED WITH MAJOR AND POSSIBLY HISTORIC FLOODING ON SOME
RIVERS. TRAVEL WILL BE SIGNFICANTLY IMPACTED.
