A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL
3 PM CST THIS AFTERNOON.
* SHORT TERM TRENDS...A FINAL BAND OF MODERATE SNOW IS PUSHING
SOUTHEAST ACROSS CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN MISSOURI THIS AFTERNOON.
AT NOON THE BAND WAS GENERALLY LOCATED ALONG THE INTERSTATE 44
CORRIDOR. ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS UP TO ONE INCH WITH
LOCALLY HEAVIER AMOUNTS WILL OCCUR THROUGH 2 PM ALONG AND SOUTH OF
INTERSTATE 44 AND EAST OF HIGHWAY 65 THIS AFTERNOON. THE
HEAVIEST TOTALS FROM THIS FINAL BAND OF SNOW WILL BE ACROSS WEST
CENTRAL AND CENTRAL MISSOURI.
* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...AFTER THIS FINAL BAND OF SNOW
PASSES...THE SNOW WILL END FROM WEST TO EAST ACROSS THE REMINDER
OF THE MISSOURI OZARKS FROM MID TO LATE AFTERNOON.
* SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS...THE HEAVIEST STORM TOTAL SNOW AND
SLEET ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL
MISSOURI...WHERE FIVE TO TEN INCHES OF SNOW WILL OCCUR. AMOUNTS
TO THE NORTH AND WEST WILL BE LESS...WITH STORM TOTAL AMOUNTS OF
FOUR TO SEVEN INCHES ACROSS THE I-44 CORRIDOR...AND TWO TO FIVE INCHES
ACROSS CENTRAL MISSOURI AND SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS.
* WINDS AND VISIBILITY...VISIBILITIES OF LESS THAN A MILE WILL BE
COMMON IN THE BAND OF MODERATE SNOW EARLY THIS AFTERNOON .
* IMPACTS...ROADS WILL REMAIN SNOW COVERED INTO EARLY THIS
AFTERNOON ACROSS THE AREA...RESULTING IN HAZARDOUS TRAVEL
CONDITIONS.
