...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND
TONIGHT ACROSS THE ENTIRE MID SOUTH...
A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL MOVE INTO THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY
TONIGHT. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO QUICKLY DEVELOP
IN A WARM...MOIST AND VERY UNSTABLE AIRMASS ACROSS THE OZARK PLATEAU
THIS AFTERNOON. THIS ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN SPREADING INTO
AREAS WEST OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER ACROSS EAST AND NORTHEAST
ARKANSAS FROM MID TO LATE AFTERNOON TOWARDS EARLY EVENING. THESE
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO FORM INTO A LINE AS THEY
MOVE ACROSS AND EAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER THIS EVENING INTO THE
OVERNIGHT HOURS. THE PRIMARY SEVERE THUNDERSTORM THREAT WILL BE
DAMAGING WINDS WITH A SECONDARY POTENTIAL FOR LARGE HAIL AND
TORNADOES. IN ADDITION...HEAVY RAINFALL MAY LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING
IN SOME LOCATIONS.
NOW IS THE TIME TO REVIEW SEVERE WEATHER SAFETY PLANS AND ACT
ACCORDINGLY LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT IF A WARNING IS ISSUED
FOR YOUR LOCATION.
