...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST EARLY THIS
MORNING...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PADUCAH HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM
WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FOR RIPLEY...BUTLER AND STODDARD
COUNTIES IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI UNTIL 6 AM CST EARLY THIS MORNING.
THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
* TIMING...FREEZING RAIN WILL EVENTUALLY COMBINE WITH SLEET...AND
THEN TRANSITION TO LIGHT SNOW BY 3 AM. THE PRECIPITATION IS
EXPECTED TO TAPER OFF AROUND SUNRISE.
* ACCUMULATIONS...ICE ACCUMULATIONS FROM A TENTH TO A QUARTER INCH
CAN BE EXPECTED...WITH THE GREATEST AMOUNTS ALONG THE ARKANSAS
BORDER. 1 TO 2 INCHES OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED BEFORE THE
PRECIPITATION ENDS.
* IMPACTS...TRAVEL WILL BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS OVERNIGHT AND INTO
FRIDAY MORNING. ANY UNTREATED WALKING SURFACES WILL BE VERY
SLICK AS WELL. WITH INCREASING NORTH WINDS EXPECTED...A FEW
ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES WILL BE POSSIBLE AS WELL.
