MORNING.
* SHORT TERM TRENDS...AIR TEMPERATURES THIS MORNING HAVE DROPPED
TO AROUND ZERO IN MOST LOCATIONS. WHILE WINDS WERE GENERALLY
LIGHT OVERNIGHT...SOUTHWESTERLY BREEZES WILL INCREASE QUICKLY
AFTER SUNRISE...ESPECIALLY WEST OF HIGHWAY 65. WITH TEMPERATURES
STILL VERY COLD...THESE WINDS WILL CAUSE WIND CHILLS TO RAPIDLY
FALL TO BETWEEN MINUS 6 AND MINUS 16 DEGREES.
* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...THOUGH 10 AM THIS MORNING FOR
ALL OF THE MISSOURI OZARKS AND EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS.
* WIND CHILL VALUES...6 TO 16 BELOW ZERO WITH THE COLDEST READINGS
OCCURRING BETWEEN 6 AND 10 AM THIS MORNING.
* IMPACTS...THE COMBINATION OF BITTER COLD TEMPERATURES AND BRISK WINDS
WILL CREATE DANGEROUS CONDITIONS IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.
FROSTBITE CAN OCCUR IN 30 MINUTES OR LESS ON EXPOSED SKIN.
