...LIGHT FREEZING RAIN POSSIBLE ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE OZARKS
SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT...
AN AREA OF WINTRY PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ACROSS THE
REGION EARLY SUNDAY MORNING...CONTINUING INTO THE EARLY MORNING
HOURS MONDAY. CURRENT INDICATIONS ARE FOR PRECIPITATION TO FALL IN
LIQUID FORM SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT...WITH SURFACE TEMPERATURES
WITHIN A DEGREE OR TWO OF FREEZING. WHERE TEMPERATURES REMAIN
BELOW FREEZING...ACCUMULATIONS OF FREEZING RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED.
THE LATEST FORECASTS SUGGEST THAT ICE AMOUNTS COULD REACH BETWEEN
ONE AND TWO TENTHS OF AN INCH OVER PARTS OF SOUTH CENTRAL
MISSOURI...WITH LOWER AMOUNTS TO THE NORTH AND WEST OF THIS AREA. THESE
AMOUNTS WOULD LIKELY RESULT IN HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ON AREA
ROADWAYS FROM SUNDAY THROUGH MONDAY MORNING. WITH TEMPERATURES EXPECTED
TO BE WITHIN A DEGREE OR TWO OF FREEZING ACROSS THIS AREA...CHANGES
IN PRECIPITATION TYPE...AMOUNTS...AND THE RESULTING IMPACTS MAY
CHANGE SIGNIFICANTLY OVER VERY SHORT DISTANCES ON SUNDAY.
WITH PRECIPITATION NOT EXPECTED TO BEGIN UNTIL SUNDAY
MORNING...SIGNIFICANT CHANGES TO FORECAST PRECIPITATION TYPE AND
AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE OVER THE NEXT DAY. THOSE WITH INTERESTS
ACROSS THE REGION ARE ENCOURAGED TO REMAIN AWARE OF THE LATEST
FORECASTS AND MONITOR FOR UPDATES.
