Tonganoxie City Council honors state discus champs

A power outage couldn’t stop Tonganoxie’s latest state champions from being recognized at a City Council meeting. Tonganoxie’s Tucker McGuire and Adalyn Schooler were recognized during the City Council meeting for sweeping the Class 4A boys and girls state discus titles last month in Wichita. Mayor David Frese opened the meeting, but minutes later the electricity went out as much of the city was without power for what would be more than an hour Monday night.
