Seventh-grade team beats Patton, Perry
The seventh-grade girls basketball team finished with two A team wins before Thanksgiving.
The A team beat Patton, 41-23, and Perry-Lecompton, 30-14. The A team has won three in a row and stands at 4-4.
The B team lost to Perry-Lecompton, 14-6.
Coach Phil Jeannin said the team has really begun to gel. He said their teamwork and defense have both improved.
Madison Weller led the team against Patton with 11 points and eight steals. Laura Jeannin nine points and three assists and Courtney Schwegler eight points and five rebounds both played well, too.
Hannah Heintzelman scored four, Kara Coffee scored three, Jessica Bogard scored two, Kassie DeHoff scored two and Lona Dickinson scored two.
Ashley Elliott and Diane Saladin also played.
Against Perry-Lecompton, Weller scored 10 points and had eight steals. Heintzelman also stole the ball six times and added two points.
Jeannin scored four and had four assists. Elliott scored six, Casey Worden scored four, and Bogard scored two.
Amanda McLaughlin scored four, and Malorie Morman scored two in the B team loss.
Brooke Grey, Sarah Hunter, Abby Hoffhines, Shannon Aye, Brandy Roberts, Sarah Winkler, Shadoe Barton, Erin Malone, Heather Deaver, and Nicole Carty also played in the B game.

The A and B teams play Thursday against Piper in Tonganoxie. The B team plays Dec. 3 against Xavier in Tonganoxie.
