“Homemade handmade,” those special Christmas gifts. Emms B. is very busy, with a very creative mind, always getting ideas from others, besides her own clever creations. A new one, she’s going to try to find or get directions, or a pattern for making. A real little charmer, a stuffed skunk. His innards being a can of room deodorant, with its trigger just under its tail.

The Senior citizens center in her town has a craft center and a sales area.

They are busy year round. Anytime throughout the year you can purchase a gift for any occasion.

You’ll find handmade items of all sorts, including comfy shawls, cozy warm scarves and mittens, caps, stuffed toys, baby gifts, pillows, pot holders, picture frames, linens of all sorts, pin cushions, even beautiful quilts.

Their shop is always open three days a week, plus other days, a busy place, staffed by volunteers. The center gets 10 percent; individuals set their own prices. The coffeepot’s on, others playing cards, lots of things happening. Sounds just great. We could use more of such spots, couldn’t we?
