Preparing for future a necessary task
For southern Leavenworth County, the new year likely will bring additional growth and change, which can be both exhilarating and frightening.
Area officials say they’re hopeful they’ve planned well enough for the growth that’s marching toward their cities from all directions.
But as Pat Albert, the Tonganoxie Chamber of Commerce president, says, “We’re as prepared as we know to be. It’s hard because you don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow.”
It is difficult.
During the past few years, Basehor also has been laying the groundwork for the future.
“We’re getting our house in order,” John Pfannenstiel, Basehor’s mayor said.
Much effort is being poured into being ready for the future. But only one thing is certain: No one can predict what form the future will take.
Area officials should be commended for the hard work they’ve put in so far. And they should be encouraged to continue preparing for whatever tomorrow will bring.
