Lorenz W. Fischer

Services for Lorenz W. Fischer, 94, Lawrence, were Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Aliceville, Kan. Burial was in St. John Evangelical Cemetery.

Mr. Fischer died Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at Brandon Woods Retirement Center in Lawrence. He was born June 1, 1907, the son of Carl and Bertha (Knuth) Fischer. He had farmed near Aliceville. He retired in 1971 as a welding inspector for General Motors Corporation in Kansas City, Kan. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Lawrence.

He married Nellie K. Schotte on Dec. 25, 1932, in Aliceville. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a son, James D. Fischer, Lawrence; a brother, Werner L. Fischer, LeRoy; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, handled arrangements.
