Norman “Ed” Woods

Services for Norman “Ed” Woods, 62, Tonganoxie, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Basehor.

Mr. Woods died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at St. John Hospital, Leavenworth. He was born June 10, 1940, in Merriam, the son of Norman and Arlene (Odom) Woods.

He was a retired mason and former owner of the Phillip’s 66 gasoline station, Tonganoxie, and Quality Auto Parts Store, Kansas City, Kan. He served in the U.S. Navy.

He married Winnie L. Smith, on Sept. 14, 1963, in Kansas City, Kan. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Angie Davis, Olathe, and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Edgar Woods, in 1979, and a sister, Susie Hoyle, in 2002.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Quisenberry Chapel where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
