Junior high wrestlers post perfect start
This year’s Tonganoxie Junior High seventh- and eighth-grade wrestling teams started their seasons Nov. 3 with home double duals against Lansing and Perry.
The Warriors wrestled Lansing first and posted 19 pins and one technical fall on their way to a 119 — 60 win.
After a short rest the grapplers faced Perry.
The Warriors again came away on top, getting 18 pins as they finished with a 108–38 win.
Last Thursday, the Warriors traveled to Oskaloosa to wrestle Holton and Oskaloosa.
The Holton wrestlers provided some tough competition for the Warriors, but with 15 pins the Warriors defeated Holton, 93–64. TJHS then wrestled a smaller Oskaloosa team in just eight matches. The Warriors managed to get six pins for a 36–12.
