Obituary: Charles W. Bailey
Services for Charles W. Bailey, 76, Leavenworth, were Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, at Savior Pastoral Center, Kansas City, Kan. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan.
Mr. Bailey died last Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Leavenworth. He was born Jan. 11, 1927, in Tallula, Ill., the son of John and Margaret (Riedesel) Bailey.
He worked for 30 years as a forklift operator for Fairbanks-Morse in Kansas City, Kan. He had served in the Merchant Marines and was in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie.
In 1953, he married Barbara Cop in Kansas City, Kan. She survives, of the home. Other survivors include two sons; Charles A. Bailey, Olathe, and Samuel M. Bailey, Aurora, Colo.; a daughter, Carol Bailey, Jarbalo; a brother, John Bailey, Nevada, Mo.; a sister, Lillian Owens, Tonganoxie; and four grandchildren.
