Obituary: Pauline E. Nance

Services for Pauline E. Nance, 87, Basehor, were Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, at the United Methodist Church in Basehor. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Basehor.

Mrs. Nance died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park. She was born June 8, 1916, in Basehor, the daughter of Fred and Winifred (Stephenson) Hein.

She was a member of the Basehor United Methodist Church, and had attended Central Business College, Kansas City, Mo.

During World War II, she worked for Hercules Inc. at Sunflower Ordnance Plant, De Soto. She worked for Weaver Personnel School, Kansas City, Mo., for 18 years, the purchasing department at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., and the food service department at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., where she was named employee of the year.

On Nov. 16, 1943, she married Charles E. Nance in Olathe. He died Jan. 1, 1997.

Survivors include a son, Charles F. Nance, Chandler, Ariz.; a daughter, Joyce Woodcock, Leavenworth; a brother, Robert Hein, Basehor; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
