Obituary: Jerry James Deaton
Services for former Leavenworth County resident Jerry James Deaton, 69, McMinnville, Tenn., were April 2, 2004, at First Presbyterian Church in McMinnville, with Andy Gay officiating. Burial was in Gardens of Memory, McMinnville.
Mr. Deaton died March 30, 2004, at River Park Hospital, McMinnville. He was born Nov. 22, 1934, the son of Leonard and Lois Farrell Deaton.
Mr. Deaton was a retired engineer with DeZurik and an elder with First Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of Warren Lodge 125, Scottish Rite, Al Menah Shrine, the Mid-South Live Steamers and the Chattanooga Society of Model Engineers. He was past president of the Tennessee Square and Round Dance Association, the Cumberland Valley Motorcycle Club and McMinnville McDonald’s Breakfast Club.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Joe (Baird) Deaton, of the home; daughters Connie Sinks, Cindy Gannon, Paula Hobbs and Paulette Todd, all of McMinnville; a brother Dr. Larry F. Deaton, Independence, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
