The Tonganoxie team, which is 1-3, played Thursday against the Kansas City Blazers and fell, 57-34, to the organized Mid-America Youth Basketball squad.

Tonganoxie, coached by 2002 THS grad Bryan Gurss, also plays against high school teams from Bonner Springs, Piper, Lansing, Turner, Bishop-Ward, Basehor-Linwood and Mill Valley.

Games are played at the Bonner Springs YMCA complex next to Bonner Springs High School. Remaining games are: 8:30 p.m. Thursday against Turner, 7:25 p.m. July 15 against Bishop-Ward and 6:20 p.m. July 22 against Lansing.

Team members on this year’s squad are Kirk Rodell, Levi Huseman, Robert Kirsch, Tyler Smith, Jordan Herron, Bryan Morris, Mike Morris, Jeff Hughes, Zeb Kissinger, Jacob Poterbin, Tyler Gurss and Tyson Letourneau.
