Services for Robert E. “Mr. Clean” Doughty, 65, Tonganoxie, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2004, at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie. Cremation will follow.

Mr. Doughty died Thursday, July 8, 2004, at his home. He was born Sept. 14, 1938, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Jack and Trudia (Miller) Doughty.

He was raised by his mother and stepfather, George Thomas Webb.

He was a 1957 graduate of Smithville (Mo.) High School and a member of the Metropolitan Southern Baptist Church, Turner, Abdallah Shrine, Kansas City, Kan., and a volunteer for Make A Wish Foundation.

He retired as owner of A&S Auto Salvage and the Inland Auto and Truck Service, Kansas City, Kan.

He was well-known as the driver and caretaker of Price Chopper’s Big Cart.

Survivors include a son, George Thomas Doughty, Kansas City, Kan.; two daughters, Penny Askin and Robin Doughty, both of Las Vegas; an adopted son, Timothy “Elmo” Kohler, Kansas City, Mo.; two half-brothers, Larry Doughty, Edwardsville, and Jerry Doughty, Independence, Mo.; a sister, Sandy Thogmartin, Greeley, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, July 14, 2004, at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
