Obiturary: Ida Nona Bonine

Services for Ida Nona Bonine, 93, Tonganoxie, will be at 10 a.m. today, July 21, 2004, at the First Christian Church in Parsons. Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery in Erie, Kan.

Mrs. Bonine died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at Tonganoxie Nursing Center, Tonganoxie. She was born Dec. 4, 1910, in rural Parsons, the daughter of James Rhodes and Eva (Showalter) Pierce.

She graduated from St. Francis High School, St. Paul, Kan. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Providence-St. Margaret Hospital, Kansas City, Kan., and provided private home care for a number of years.

She married Clifford Lee Bonine in 1929 in Erie. He died in 1947. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Joseph Lee Bonine and Cecil Loyd Bonine, and one grandson, John Joseph Epperly.

Survivors include three sons, John Wesley, James Mansford and Clifford Leroy Bonine, all of Parsons; three daughters, Beatrice Pauline Frevele, Pittsburg, Margaret Louise Bradford, Wichita, and Olive Mary Frevele, Tonganoxie; 28 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 14 great great-grandchildren.

Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, is in charge of arrangements.
