Obituary: Marjorie A. Thurston

Services for Marjorie A. (Hendrix) Thurston, 71, Tonganoxie, were Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie. Burial was in Black Oak Cemetery, Braymer, Mo.

Mrs. Thurston died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Mo. She was born March 9, 1933, in Lenexa, the daughter of Glenn A. and Zelma May (Routh) Hendrix.

She worked as a bus paraprofessional for Tonganoxie School District and also had sold Avon products for 25 years.

She was a member of Tonganoxie Friends Church.

Survivors include three sons, John Thurston, Oskaloosa, Phillip Thurston, Wichita, and Daniel Thurston, Tonganoxie; four daughters, Wanda Thompson, Parkville, Mo., Jo Lynn Jewell, Garnett, Pam Wranich, Leavenworth, and Jennifer Manning, Overland Park; four brothers, Jack Hendrix, Topeka, Robert Hendrix, Gardner, Larry Hendrix, Stanton, Neb., and Richard Hendrix, Kearney, Mo.; two sisters, Margaret Golden, Marshfield, Mo., and Donna Richardson, Chula Vista, Calif.; 19 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
