Obituary: Kathleen Margaret Baska

Services for Kathleen Margaret Baska, 65, Bonner Springs, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2004, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tonganoxie. Burial will be in Holy Angels Cemetery, Basehor.

Mrs. Baska died Sunday, June 20, 2004, at her home. She was born March 28, 1939, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Bronco and Francis (Horvat) Dodig. She was orphaned at a young age and raised by her aunt, Katherine Horvat.

She married William Lee Baska on Oct. 7, 1958, in Miami, Okla.

Mrs. Baska was a member of Sacred Heart parish in Tonganoxie, and a member of the Communication Workers of America local union 6407 of Lawrence.

In 1990, she retired from J.C. Penney Distribution Center, Lenexa, and worked as relay center supervisor for Southwestern Bell Co., Lawrence.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984, and by one sister, Donna Paulakovich.

Survivors include a son, Mark Baska, Tonganoxie; two brothers, Steven Dodig, Overland Park, and John Dodig, California; and two sisters, Margaret Pritchard, Ozawkie, and Loraine Rogers, Sarasota, Fla.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund, sent in care of Quisenberry Funeral Home, P.O. Box 993, Tonganoxie 66086.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
