Acting police chief John Putthoff said a search warrant was issued and two juveniles were taken into police custody and later released. They are awaiting charges from Leavenworth County attorney Frank Kohl.

“We’re looking at possible sale and distribution and possession charges,” Putthoff said. “It’s going to the county attorney’s office.”

Putthoff said the marijuana was being sent to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation for further examination.

Roughly two months ago, the department also seized marijuana in another raid.

“We’re getting more capabilities to be able to go after this kind of stuff with a more aggressive manner now and we just want the public to be aware of that,” Putthoff said.
