Obituary: Robert Henry Walter

Services for Robert Henry Walter, 87, Basehor, were Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Basehor. Burial was in Holy Angels Cemetery.

Mr. Walter died Nov. 2, 2004, at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. He was born Aug. 3, 1917, in Lecompton, the son of Joseph and Susanna (Grauel) Walter.

He worked as a general insurance adjuster for 40 years, retiring in 1982 from Equifax Inc., Overland Park. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, serving in the Troop Carrier Command from 1944 to 1946. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Basehor, Blue Goose Insurance Club (Kansas City area) and enjoyed coaching Little League baseball teams.

On Feb. 1, 1941, he married Edna Mae Horton in Topeka. She survives, of the home. Other survivors include three sons, Gary R. Walter, San Antonio, Texas, Greg H. Walter, Tonganoxie, and Glade W. Walter, Basehor; a daughter, Marsha J. Racki, Basehor; a brother, Richard Walter, Lecompton; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
