Basehor man involved in motorcycle accident in serious condition
A 77-year-old Basehor man injured in a motorcycle accident March 28 near the Kansas Turnpike bridge on Kansas Avenue was listed in serious condition Tuesday at the University of Kansas Hospital, a hospital official said Tuesday.
Bertrum Mitchell was driving his 1999 Harley-Davidson when he lost control of the motorcycle. The bike then hit a guardrail.
Mitchell was taken by air ambulance to the Kansas City, Kan., hospital. According to Leonard Ayres of the Leavenworth county sheriff’s office, Mitchell sustained head injuries during the crash.
